1 Corinthians 1:10
“Brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, I urge all of you to be in agreement and not to have divisions among you, so that you may be perfectly united in your understanding and opinions.”

My wife and I conducted our morning bible study and we read this verse and I started thinking about the divisions of the church we have today. Many times I have heard other denominations speak poorly about others. Things like “they read the bible different” or “they believe different.” Did Paul not teach us not to divide the church? We as Christians for far too long have put up boundaries called denominations to separate us when we should be working hard together on our similarities. We all believe in God the Father, who, in His sovereignty, created and rules over all. We believe in Jesus the Son (dead, buried, resurrected, and ascended), who came to offer eternal life to those who repent, believe, and faithfully obey him. We believe in the active presence of the Holy Spirit, who effectively works in the lives of believers. So what makes us so different? We all stand on the same building blocks. So I urge everyone that has put up boundaries between believers to pray and ask for forgiveness and clarity. Read the scriptures with an open mind and heart. I pray that one day we can all be united as followers of Christ. Have a blessed day.
