Power of Faith

Matthew 9:28-30

When he had gone into the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus asked them,   “Do you believe I can do this?”   They told him, “Yes, Lord!” Then he touched their eyes and said,   “According to your faith, let it be done for you!” And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus sternly told them,   “See to it that nobody knows about this.”

I wanted to start out this sermon with Matthew 9:28-30 because it shows how through absolute faith, Jesus can heal all things in our lives. Either it is a physical illness or a spiritual one, He will provide supernatural resolution in your life if you let Him in.  There are many times in the bible where Jesus healed the sick and lame. What many fail to realize is that the people were healed by their faith in Jesus Christ.  When Jesus said &according to your faith, let it be done for you,& He was showing us not only the way to salvation but what He expects from all of us.  Jesus gave us the opportunity to have grace through His sacrifice on Calvary.  Without having our complete faith in Him we are not able to shine as bright as is expected from us as Christians.  One cannot be simply half in so to speak when it comes down to faith.  One must be all in or none at all.  By starting off explaining this simple truth many people leave out on Jesus’s miracles we can now continue on.

Mark 5:34

He told her,  “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed from your illness.”

There was a woman who had an illness, she bleed constantly.  Once she heard that Jesus was coming, her faith led her to believe that if she could just touch Jesus Christ that she would be healed. She believed this so deeply that when she reached out and touched the cloak of Jesus she was healed.  Jesus felt some virtue had left Him and He said into the crowd &faith has made you whole.& This is powerful statement because He understood what happened even though many others could not.

Mark 11:24

That is why I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.

As Christians we must understand that faith is the most important part of our belief.  What is praying?  When you pray you are putting your faith into God’s word.  Without having that full trust in God, your prayers will in a sense fall unto deaf ears.  Prayers are not just for when you want or need something, but giving God the glory on everything.  You need to have a working relationship with God on a daily basis.  By having your prayers answered or the shades being taken off so you understand why a certain prayer was not answers will only bring you closer to God.

I will conclude with Matthew 17:20 because it shows how anything is possible through faith.  Jesus Christ shows us this lesson over and over in the bible, but also in our daily lives.  Without faith we are nothing.  This is something that we all need to understand to break down our boundaries of unbelief.  So please after reading Matthew 17:20, take some time and pray.  Ask God to give you clarity in your life and help you with any unbelief.  Ask for God to open your heart and let the Holy Spirit in so you will be filled with His presence and help you be  a beacon for those who lack the light of Jesus Christ in their lives. By others seeing the impact Jesus Christ has had on your life by your walk in faith will help bring down walls of unbelief in those around you. Please remember, through Christ all things are possible.

Matthew 17:20

He told them,   “Because of your lack of faith. I tell all of you with certainty, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.&
