Who is Jesus today?

Matthew 5:17-20

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I didn’t come to destroy them, but to fulfill them, because I tell all of you with certainty that until heaven and earth disappear, not one letter or one stroke of a letter will disappear from the Law until everything has been accomplished.  So whoever sets aside one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom from heaven. But whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom from heaven because I tell you, unless your righteousness greatly exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom from heaven!”

Today I want to talk about Jesus Christ with everyone. I have been reading some very interesting articles about how some scientist are validating the truth of our Bible. I for one do not need scientific proof about anything because of my faith in God and His word. Having scientific proof could be needed to help some unbelief. This had me thinking when my son was still in high school, they were teaching him how to debunk the Bible. They were telling the teenagers about Jesus not really being our Messiah and like the Pharisees many of them were trying to talk down Jesus. So with scripture and some science, I want to talk about Jesus with everyone today and hopefully restore trust in Jesus Christ to those who beliefs have been shaken by worldly influences.

Some people try to argue with the same way the Pharisees had so long ago. Jesus was just a man trying to change the Law of God. Jesus did not come to change the law, but to fulfill it. He never went against the old testament prophets or to God’s commandments.  There are many examples on this and I want to share a couple with everyone.  These are just some basic ones from the ten commandments that Jesus taught.

Exodus 20:3 “You must not have any other God but me.” verses Matthew 4:10 “You must worship the Lord your God and only serve him.”

Exodus 20:4 “You must not make yourself an idol.” verses Luke 16:13 “No one can serve two masters.”

Exodus 20:12 “You must not covet” verses Luke 12:15 “Guard against every kind of greed.”

In the end of Jess’s life the Pharisees could not find any fault in Jesus.  He was our perfect lamb. The Bible repeatedly has examples where Jesus followed God’s laws and yet so many people have trouble understanding Him. Many people need to understand the simple truth of Jesus being divine. Both son of God and son of man. He is the second part of the Trinity. No matter what scholars say, he was not just a popular speaker, or just a influential man. He was sent by the Father so that we could have a chance of grace once again. He paid for our sins in full and gave us the capability to have one-on-one fellowship with our Heavenly Father that we lost long ago.

Now lets talk about science. Do you know about how many prophecies Jesus fulfilled in the Bible? Jesus fulfilled over 350 prophecies. Peter W. Stooner and Robert C. Newman wrote a book called Science Speaks.  In this book they write about the statistics and probability of Jesus fulfilling just eight prophesies. That number was 1 in 10 ^17.  That is 1 with 17 zeros behind of it or 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000. Now think about the number for Jesus fulfilling over 350 of them. It is almost statistically impossible for Jesus not to be our Messiah. Still people want to challenge Christians today based on their interpretation of scientific proof. A friend of mine, Pastor Larry, said  “science cannot disprove God or create anything. It can only explain to what God has done.” If your faith was being tested before, I pray this information comforts you.

But what is my purpose today? “because, I tell you, unless your righteousness greatly exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” I want everyone’s faith stronger today than it was yesterday. In a world where our faith is tested daily and we are ridiculed for trying to do whats right, every now and then we need some encouragement.

Ephesians 4:29

“Let no corrupting talk come out your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”

If anyone has any questions about Jesus just share the word with them. By studying the Bible and making time to make a personal relationship with Him will make you will grow as a Christian. So please take some time today and pray. Ask God to bring His spirit in you and help unravel any of your doubts or unbelief in Jesus or anything else you have been questioning.  Only by educating yourself and prayer will allow you to testify about Him to others.  The more knowledge you have and the stronger your testimony, the better you can reach others.  Remember there will be people like the Pharisees that will try to find fault in everything we do, but do not that deter you from getting to know who Jesus is. Not only in His ministry, but in His death and resurrection.  That simple truth no one can take away from you. God bless you all and have a wonderful day.
