Little by little

Deuteronomy 7:21-24

“You shall not be scared of them; for the LORD your God is in your midst, a great and awesome God. The LORD your God will cast out those nations before you by little and little: you may not consume them at once, lest the animals of the field increase on you. But the LORD your God will deliver them up before you, and will confuse them with a great confusion, until they be destroyed. He will deliver their kings into your hand, and you shall make their name to perish from under the sky: no man shall be able to stand before you, until you have destroyed them.”

When I read this verse I get inspired about how good our God is because He is wise.  In this verse, Moses is telling the Israelites that God would destroy their enemies little by little.  God has the power to destroy all of those nations at once, but knew it would not be good for the people because what was best for them was to handle the situation in stages.  If the nations would be taken out at once the animals would multiple too much and it could have hurt the land.

With two simple questions I can relate this to today’s life. What if God would solve all your problems at once? Would this give you spiritual maturity?  No, God works in many marvelous ways and at times it is best to work in someone’s life in stages.  By allowing God to handle your problems one by one and then putting your whole trust in Him, over time you will spiritually grow.  Knowing God can handle all your problems and allowing Him to do so with full trust is another.  It is only when you put your faith to the test that you will see our God in action.  Just like a baby, we must take life one step at a time.  I hope this helps someone today and please have a blessed day.
