Behold, children are a heritage of the LORD. The fruit of the womb is his reward. 4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth. 5 Blessed is the man who has his quiver full of them. They won’t be disappointed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.
Many times children are seen as a burden or a hindrance rather than an asset. I have been guilty of this. Sometimes a parent just wants time to themselves or just some quiet time because they feel overwhelmed. However, the bible calls children “a gift from the Lord,” a reward. We can learn a lot from our children. Two big lessons we can learn from them is their inquisitive minds and their trusting spirit. These are things that many of us lose as we get older. We tend to let past experiences change these good qualities within ourselves. We should see our children as a chance to change the world instead of a hindrance.
As adults we should never treat children as a inconvenience since they are so highly valued by God. So if you have a bad day with your children or week, remember Matthew 18:10.
“See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.”
Now please have a blessed day!
