Wednesday’s Motivation

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Too many people live their life in worry. They worry about their finances, relationships, or health. If you are one of those people take comfort in the fact that the Lord is with you. Our God comforts us during these times. We are to be strong when we feel weak because he is with us. If you are afraid or discouraged, don’t be because he is with us. Our God is always with us and never against us. He wants us to be strong and happy but is all comes down to trust. If you trust in our God all things are possible. If you trust that he is with you then your strength will be drawn through him. So please take comfort in that and start your day off right. Give thanks to our Lord for always being there for you. For the good times and the bad. Have a blessed day yall.

Renew Your Day!

I had to make a long trip to Houston TX from Panguich UT.  During this five day 3,000 mile round trip I spoke to a few friends and family members.  While listening to them speak, a couple of my friends and family stopped going to church or have been feeling that they were in a strange place with God.  As I was speaking to them, I felt the Holy Spirit putting this pressing matter on my heart.  This is why I am writing this short sermon to help them and many others understand that we all go through this.  It happened in both the Old and New Testament.  It still happens today, even for priests.  We get in the daily grind of life and sometimes we feel that the world just wants to keep us down.  This is normal though.  So I want to share two bible verses and talk to you about them today.

Psalm 51:10-12

Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit.

The word create used here rendered is to donate a act of creating something that was never there.  David wanted God to erect a constant spirit within him. David knew he needed God’s help because dealings with his heart and inner being was far greater than himself.  He begged God to not abandon him.
I love this verse of Psalm 51 becase like David, many of us know that something is missing in our lives.  We either cannot put our finger on it or know it is God. We then justify and make reasons why it could be something else.  We have trouble in understanding why we feel empty inside ourselves and try to fill that void with worldly things.  This has happened to me in the past and I know it happens to people everyday. When you feel the emptiness inside of yourself, petition to God like David did! Tell God to create in you a clean heart and renew your faith in Him.  Ask for the Holy spirit to come into your heart and make you brand new.  Being a Christian is about constantly improving yourself and growing with and in God. Like David you must be willing to ask for help.

Lamentations 5:21

Restore us to You, O LORD, that we may be restored; Renew our days as of old,

Jeremiah is weeping in the darkness. He wants renewal of Israels old days.  He wanted God to restore their former state. To regain their country, temple, and most importantly Gods favor to the nation of Israel.  This cry out for God to renew what has been lost is a beautiful thing to me. Jeremiah is weeping from the depths of himself and showing God his everything.  He knew they needed renewal and prayed and weeped for God to give His people, His favor again.  Have any of you weeped to God lately?  Have you petitioned to him so sincerely that you have nothing left in you?  I know this sounds strange, but God wants all of you.  He wants your sincerity!  I tell people “how can you expect to receive from God, when you are not willing to give him your entire heart and soul?” This is a simple statement for a simple problem.

I just wanted to share this with you today because it weighed heavy on my heart. Please do not let your emptiness linger.  Its OK for this to happen to you.  You are not alone and it happens to us all from time to time. I just want you to find a quiet place today, whether it is your closet, restroom, or even  your car.  Lift your hands up high to the Glory of His Majesty. Pray from the bottom of your heart for God to restore your faith and to fill you with the Holy Spirit. Allow him into your heart again and to restore your faith.  If David and Jeremiah could do it, nothing in this world can stop you but you.  Please have a blessed day and I hope I helped someone today.

Thursday’s Motivation

Galatians 6:9 “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good.  At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

I always tell people to do the right thing because God is watching them. Often times people laugh, but it is a serious subject that needs to be discussed. I know at times we are tempted to cut corners or have a blind eye on something. These are human urges that we need to fight because it pushes us off our path of righteousness. We are to always do what is right in the eyes of the Lord. It may not be today or tomorrow, but we do get rewarded for showing good judgment and having the courage to do the right thing. We try to justify why we don’t do what is right, but would you justify your actions to God? Think about your actions and always do what is right in the eyes of our Lord. That is how you make a difference in this world. Leading by example. The world does not need fake or religious Christians, but honest ones that live their life right. Have a blessed day yall!

Tuesday’s Motivation

Acts 18:9
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a dream, “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.”

I love this verse because it discusses a issue that happens even today. As Christians, we are called to spread the good news yet many of us feel out of place or uncomfortable in doing so. We may not want to feel weird, but my brothers and sisters we belong to a bigger calling. It is not about how you feel when talking to people. It should be about wanting to spread the word of GOD and plant the seeds that will hopefully mature in people and make them want to seek out the truth. If we all stay quite and in a shell we are not only hurting ourselves, but robbing others of potentially being saved! Please do not be ashamed to be a Christian and spread the word of God. I pray everyone has a blessed day!

Happy Father’s Day

Proverbs 3:11-12

My son, do not reject the LORD’s discipline, and do not despise his correction, because the LORD corrects the person he loves, just as a father corrects the son he delights in.

I just want to say happy Father’s day to all the fathers out there. I just wanted to talk about fatherhood for a minute today. As a parent the father figure is always known as a disciplinary figure, but a real father understands that being a disciplinary figure does not mean to break your children down. We are there to be stern and correct our children out of love, just like God does us. Father’s day is not about a pat on the shoulder, but a day to remember how much we delight in our children. Without them, we would not be father’s and have the opportunity to grow from them. I want to once again wish everyone a happy Father’s day and continue to be a good role model for your children to emulate! God entrusted his children to you and always remember that.

Tuesday Motivation

I belong to my lover, and his desire is for me. Come, my lover, let us go to the countryside, let us spend the
night in the villages. Let us go early to the vineyards to see if the vines have budded, if their blossoms have
opened, and if the pomegranates are in bloom– there I will give you my love. The mandrakes send out their
fragrance, and at our door is every delicacy, both new and old, that I have stored up for you, my lover.
Song of Solomon 7:10-13 NIV

This gives a beautiful picture of the intimacy between a couple. I did a bible study this morning with my wife on this bible verse. I love how it talks about getting away together.  My wife and I talked a lot about keeping worldly desires out of a relationship.  Now of days, relationships never last and that is because people feel that everyone is replaceable. Because of that true intimacy can never be reached.

There are layers of intimacy in a couple. Sex is only one. Spending quality time and communicating your wants and goals are another. The only way to do this is by making time for each other. Do not let life keep you from your spouse.  Make a schedule for each other and keep it. Make regular dates and communicate about everything. After my 10 years of marriage, I have learned this. I am far from perfect and have made a ton of mistakes. But doing these things I’m writing you today is what kept us away from divorce many times in the past. Stay strong and keep the world out of your relationship. God bless you all!

Monday Motivation

Galatians 2:20

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

This verse from the epistles Paul wrote to the early Christians of Galatia is a powerful statement. As Christians we all need to understand that our life is not our own. When you accept Jesus Christ into your heart, and accept the Holy Spirit into your life, you gave all of you to Him.

Jesus Christ gave his life on the cross to pay the wages of our sins. We are born again and have a second change in life and eternal life after we die. How many people wish for a second chance in life or feel that what they have done in the past can never be forgiven? Jesus gave is a way, and for that we are forgiven.

Before I was a Christian I was an idol worshiper. I was a priest in a African Traditional Religion. It wasn’t until I found Christ, that I fully understood how wrong my life was. I felt that I could not be forgiven. I sacrificed animals, did black magic and communicated with the dead. When I found Christ and was baptised, I was forgiven. I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders knowing that. My life is not my own! Neither is yours. If God can change Paul, me and so many others, how can you not want to live your life as it is not your own? I hope everyone has a blessed day!
